A month ago I made the decision to stop thinking about the things I want to do, and start actually doing them. I took a break from social media to focus my “after business hours” hours on improving my creative, mental, and physical health.
- I am making art again and secured a solo exhibition at The Gallery George this coming July.
- I exercise 6 days a week, training for half-marathon in June. I lost weight and now I’m trying to gain back in muscle.
- My headspace is more organized than ever. Intrusive thoughts are still loud, but I know how to turn them down.

If you didn’t know, I haven’t produced any new paintings in 4 years. I can come up with a million excuses, one being that “I’m afraid to make something I don’t like”. It sounds so silly. It has been a real battle with myself, so I do thank my wife & my friends for encouraging me to keep going and reminding me that not everything I make has to be “perfect”.

One of the greatest advice I’ve ever received is, Make the ugliest painting you’ve ever made, and call it “The Ugliest Painting I Ever Made”. Here it is and you’re welcome.

When Kaitlin and I first heard TMWY in their first backyard concert, it was unexpectedly wonderful and not long enough. I remember the set was only like 30-mins. We knew it was going to be good, but we didn’t know they were going to be THAT good. We said wow what a vibe, when we get a backyard we should host and have them play for 1-hour.

I wanted to create something to inspire myself to do more, to do better, to start focusing less on method and more on message. Using only primary colours, I wanted to speak to myself and to speak to others through my own inner language and inspire to seize the now.
